Favorite TCNJ Hangout: When the weather is nice, I love to hangout in Alumni Grove! Otherwise, I like to spend my time either in the Library Cafe or Student Center!

Favorite Place to Study on Campus: I usually do most of my work in my room or in the library. However, if it’s nice outside I love to read on a bench by the lake!

Best TCNJ Memory: Most of my favorite memories at TCNJ have been at events hosted by the College Union Board. One in particular that stands out in my mind is the Moonlight Cruise. It was nice to be able to dress up a little and go out with friends on a boat for a few hours! The food was delicious and we danced until our feet hurt!

Why TCNJ: I chose TCNJ because I find it to be the perfect size and atmosphere for cultivating the person I want to be. The TCNJ community is extremely welcoming and genuine inside and outside of the classroom. While there are so many different people to meet and learn from, you never feel out of place. Here at TCNJ, everyone is supported and encouraged to be the best person they can be!

Favorite Place to Study on Campus: The study rooms in the library. It forces me to not procrastinate.

Best TCNJ Memory: My best TCNJ memory would probably be being cast as one of the leads in ACT’s fall production of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”. My entire floor came opening night to support me. When I went to take my bow all of them gave me a standing ovation and cheered very loud obnoxiously. I almost died.

Why TCNJ: I have 2 older sisters and always had to help move them into their colleges. When second sister transferred into TCNJ, I was 12 years old. While we were moving her in, I immediately fell in love. I told my mother “I want to go to school here!” And I remember her telling me “if you work hard, you’ll be able to.” And 6 years later here I am!

When my brother would come home from breaks and rave about the people and the sense of community, I knew I had to apply. No other college I visited lived up to how I initially felt about TCNJ, and I couldn’t be happier that I made it my home for my first four years of higher education!

Why Did You Choose to Come to TCNJ? I chose to come to TCNJ because it felt so amazing once I stepped on campus, besides the buildings being perfect, there was three reasons. The academic curriculum, the wide variety of programs and clubs offered, and the community of people. The academic curriculum is vigorous and demanding. The wide variety of programs and clubs lets students explore outlets of expression. And the community of people here are very polite, supportive, and very friendly. I have always felt like TCNJ was a perfect fit for me.

Why did you pick TCNJ?: At first, I did not originally choose TCNJ, I wanted to go to NYU (New York University), but I could not afford it. I ended up coming to visit the TCNJ campus one day and ended up falling in love with the campus. It is the perfect size and beautiful. Furthermore, once I started meeting people on campus, I was sold. I had been searching for a place where I could be part of a family and I believe I have found it. TCNJ is a family and I couldn’t have made a better choice.

Best TCNJ Memory: Meeting everyone at the Ambassador training retreat and immediately feeling accepted and part of something bigger than myself.

Why TCNJ? I transferred to TCNJ because it had everything that the elitist private college I attended initially did not: a diverse and friendly student body; a faculty with a genuine passion to help them succeed; affordable tuition, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. While I originally wanted to go out of state, I found that being an hour from home was the perfect distance for me: far enough to allow me to grow as an individual, and close enough so I could go home to see my dogs whenever I wanted. Coming to TCNJ was the best decision I’ve made for both my future and my happiness; I only wish I made it the first time around.

I’ll always remember getting that big yellow folder in the mail and knowing that I would forever be a TCNJ Lion.

Why TCNJ? Lets just say that if you can visit a school in the pouring rain and come out loving it, than that’s the school for you. Even the rain couldn’t damper the sense of community, academic reputation, and welcoming feel that TCNJ has to offer its students.

Best memory from TCNJ: Getting my acceptance email into the Ambassadors program!

Why did you pick TCNJ?: I chose to come to TCNJ primarily because of the academics. I was deciding between here and another institution, and I just really felt like TCNJ had an outstanding English department. When you choose a college, you want to choose a school that you believe offers the best education for whatever it is that you decided to major in, and I truly believe that TCNJ was the best choice for me. However, the close proximity to home and the beauty of the campus definitely played a part as well! During my time here I can honestly say that TCNJ has become my home away from home, and coming here was the best decision I have ever made.

Why Did You Choose to Come to TCNJ? I chose to come to TCNJ because I knew it was home the minute I stepped onto the grounds! There was no one on campus when I visited but I had this innate feeling that I belonged here. I was also influenced by TCNJ’s strong academic reputation, proximity to home, and campus size (both student population and actual spatial size).

Favorite Place To Study On Campus: Although I love the library cafe, if I have to do some intense studying, you can find me on the fourth floor of the lib at a cubicle or small circle table!
